Project Capabilities:
Technixs' Outside Plant professionals, along with our alliance partners, are able to provide
turnkey OSP planning, feasibility studies, budgeting, engineering, inspection and
construction solutions.
|
Network Planning:
We consult with the customer to
determine their specific plan for placement of a fiber network. Network
planning will determine if the customer's best interests will be served by spending the
funds necessary to design and build a fiber network.
Route Feasibility Study:
Technixs' OSP personnel in the field
to determine specific routing for a network. The network is planned to best serve the customer's business plan. During this work, the various
jurisdictions where construction will take place may be contacted for initial
feedback as to the routing of the network and the permitting requirements that
will be encountered. While in the field, creative arrangements with
right-of-way holders can be identified that can greatly reduce the cost and
schedule of a proposed project. See our ROW
page.
Budgetary Planning:
The work is normally done as a desktop study initially (without field visits) and is based primarily
on our experience working in certain regions of the country. During this work, we will provide the customer with a general cost of
constructing a network. Later, once a feasibility study is approved, a
more detailed and specific budget can be developed.
Detailed Design:
Technixs sends OSP field engineers to field where the
project is planned to perform detailed route engineering. This design will
then be turned into the finished construction documents of sufficient detail for the
construction crews to work from and to allow future maintenance. OSP
engineering identifies exact placement of the network in relation to other
utilities in the street or aerial attachments. Usually, various
tradeoffs between cost and efficiency are selected for the final design.
Project Management:
This project activity encompasses all project activity to ensure timely and
efficient completion of the identified project. Project management
can be provided for any or all phases of the project phases at the mutual
agreement with the customer and Technixs. Our Project Managers (PMs) have the technical expertise to
perform all required work. The PMs coordinate with all project
stakeholders and maintain accurate reporting and controls of schedules
and budget. Project artifact documents can be maintained on our
secured customer project area server. See our
Project Management page.
Cable Placement & Splicing:
OSP Services enjoys a alliances with several high quality pneumatic placement (cable blowing)
and fiber splicing vendors, These relationships allows Technixs to provide
high quality services at competitive pricing to our customers. After the cable is placed,
splicing and network test of the installed cable system is completed.
Final As-Built Documentation:
This task is completed after construction has been finished, and all actual
placement data is "red-lined" on the construction drawings. This is completed as early as
possible after the project is constructed. This final document will serve as the
customer's basis for operating and maintaining the route, and will be
revised as changes or additions to the cable system are accomplished.
