The Technixs staff has gained
valuable experience in field Operations maintenance and the setup and launch of Competitive
Local Service and Long Distance transmission networks throughout the USA.
Local Service
is being delivered via Class 5 traditional and "softswitch" switching technology across either owned fiber optic
or wireless transport facilities or leased capacity. Long distance networks are almost exclusively
owned fiber or leased (dark fiber) optical systems.
Data network components such as servers, switches, routers and hubs are very
reliable, yet require vigilance to insure that, when they fail - either
hardware or software - that backup copies and hardware are available and
procedures are in place to repair the fault without further disrupting users.
Once the switch and network elements are in place, various test plans are implemented
to ensure full functionality of the switch, transport network, process, and local staff.
The lessons learned and insights gained from the launched (in-service) cities
contribute greatly to our body of knowledge and its attempt to assist Field Operations
staff in understanding processes and issues.
